Dave's Night Out, Palace of Versaille, Vimy Ridge, War Cemetaries

Yeah so sorry we have been busy around here seeing the sights from the Palace of Versailles, visiting the War Memorials at Vimy Ridge and Juno Beach (Normandy), the medieval castle and monk hideout at Mont St Michael, and even time for Dave to enjoy a night out with friends in Paris (now that's another story for later). Northern France has been a great experience in the countryside for all of us, allowing us to escape the Paris thrash and experience firsthand the war history from WW1 and WW2. It's very hard to describe the feelings one gets at Vimy Ridge or Juno Beach where so many Canadian and Allied soldiers died to protect our freedoms which we take for granted. I think even our kids truly understood the sacrifices made by so many people not so long ago.
Tomorrow we are off to London via the high speed TGV through the Chunnel from Paris. We will spend the next five days in a flat in Kensington where we will tour the sights, and yes see more churches and museums. Till then ...John
